When Children Become Letters: Active Learning at SRJ
Textbooks are only one path to literacy. At SRJ Academy, teachers also use movement and teamwork—children sit together on the floor to form letters and numbers such as S, 1, and A (for Academy). Hands rest on shoulders, eyes stay focused, and the whole class becomes one shape.
This playful method helps early learners remember symbols, follow instructions, and feel proud of working as a team. It turns abstract letters into something they can see and feel with their own bodies.
